Summary/Abstract: On 25th October 2010 in the hall of the main quarters of The Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg a celebration of awarding Prof. Jan Harasimowicz from the Art History Institute at the University of Wrocław the title of Doctor Honoris Causa in Theology by The Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg – ‘to acknowledge his great achievements on the area of history of religion and history of art in the Early Modern Era’. The laudation was delivered by Prof. Udo Sträter, rector of The Martin Luther University, on behalf of the Theology Department the doctoral degree was handed in by the vice-dean of the department Prof. Udo Schnelle. After the solemn promotion Professor Harasimowicz gave a lecture which is published hereby. [Editors]
