Summary/Abstract: In recent decades, several studies have shown that the use of the Internet, and social media within it, can make a major contribution to English language learning and acquisition. The present study seeks to examine this phenomenon among high school students. We raised two research questions: the frequency of using English for various online activities, and the use of language learning applications/sites to learn English. The latter can be language exchange social networking sites, online language learning platforms, online dictionaries, vocabulary development or pronunciation help sites/applications. The results show that the students involved in the study use English frequently and in large numbers for online activities, but they specifically know and use only a few of the listed English language learning applications/sites.
