Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes changes in the employment of women in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for 2000-2022, during the period of increasing role of the region in the development of Russia in the Far East. The main signs of gender asymmetry in the regional labor market are considered. The authors concluded that the gender gap in employment is largely due to the resource specialization of the economy of the Republic of Yakutia, personnel policy and the scale of external migration across the economic zones of the region. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that internal migration regulates women’s employment and their living conditions before and after changing their place of residence. It is shown that women’s employment problems are related to their place of residence, dysfunctional family structure and the number of children in families.
