Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the role of pre-research and research, with an emphasis on cultural interviews in print media. Based on my 26 years of experience in Romanian journalism, the study presents several situations a journalist may encounter throughout their career. For didactic purposes and due to space limitations in this volume, I will schematically present the elements that a young journalist should take into account when approaching a topic in the press. The interviews reproduced here, which are my own, are not intended as models, but rather as examples to better understand the genre and its demands.
