Summary/Abstract: The scientific poster is an illustrated summary of a research project carried out in a technical or scientific field. Teaching students how to plan and create a scientific poster has many benefits for their professional and academic future. This article provides an example of a teaching program implemented for second-year students in Automatic Engineering. It highlights the importance of this teaching activity, which involves practising the four skills outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. In addition to these skills, teaching how to create a scientific poster develops important skills in popularising science in the artistic and visual fields. The logical, structured and coherent organisation of a scientific poster helps students to communicate effectively the results of their research assignment that is intended to captivate the reader's attention. A successful scientific poster can capture the public's attention if it engages the audience through its visual appeal and generate interest if its different sections are presented clearly and concisely.
