Summary/Abstract: Audio-psycho-phonology method – APP developed by A. Tomatis, also known as Auditory Attention Training, is a form of neurosensory therapy that supports the development of various areas of a child’s functioning. Although it has been applied in educational settings for many years, there is limited research evaluating its effectiveness for children with mild intellectual disability. The author suggests that this method can be a significant factor in enhancing the social functioning of children within this group. By influencing emotional processes, the APP therapy aids the development of communication and interaction skills, which are essential for building relationships and functioning effectively in society. Achieving these competencies improves the quality of interpersonal relationships and strengthens a child’s ability to act independently in diverse social contexts. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the APP method in improving the social functioning of a child with mild intellectual disability. The research findings could provide valuable insights for educators and therapists involved in supporting child development, highlighting the potential of this method in supporting the social integration of children with intellectual disabilities.
