Summary/Abstract: One of the fundamental problems for enterprises operating in a turbulent environment is the ability to respond to emerging threats. To do this effectively, they should use tools that allow them to identify and reduce the risks associated with decision-making. Undertaking such actions serves to achieve a specific state in which it is possible to ensure an optimal level of value for the owners and long-term development. This state constitutes the economic security of a given economic unit. In this context, the sense of security is associated with the need to understand the factors threatening the enterprise and possessing knowledge about mechanisms that can be applied to limit uncertainty or mitigate risk. This makes the intellectual capital of the enterprise, particularly related to the conceptual competencies of managers at various management levels, an essential requirement for ensuring economic security. It is crucial for undertaking activities related to the implementation of optional solutions supporting enterprise management processes.
