Summary/Abstract: This article presents a series of events prior to the uprising led by Horea, Cloșca and Crișan, starting from April 1773, when Transylvania is visited by Iosif de Habsburg-Lothringen, the future emperor of the Holy Roman Empire German nation, co-ruler and son of His Highness, Empress Maria Theresa. The series of dissatisfactions presented on this occasion to the emperor will intensify in the coming years, culminating in armed conflicts.
