Summary/Abstract: Danielius Rusys (b. 1964) is an artist born in Klaipėda and currently based in Vilnius. The artist’s creative worldview matured in the free-spirited atmosphere of Klaipėda’s bars. From the very beginning, the artist developed a unique, recognisable style, characterised by individual iconography, the aesthetics of surrealism, Italian metaphysical painting, philosophical content and the expression of the archetypal human subconscious. In the field of Lithuanian art, this artist stands out for the variety of creative methods and techniques used, which help to transform the content arising in the artist’s mind into a coherent, fantastic, dreamlike narrative and aesthetic of paintings.
