Summary/Abstract: The article examines non-codified colloquial phraseological units in the Ukrainian language that function mainly in live spoken language and are gradually penetrating the Internet, mass media and literary discourses. The author highlights the factors that contribute to the creation of such phraseological units. A detailed analysis has been made of the main sources used to replenish the corpus of non-codified colloquial phraseology, among which the most effective are actual colloquial speech, borrowings from the Russian language, slang and argot phraseological units, chamber idioms, folklore and dialect phraseology. It was found out that the set of negatively evaluated non-codified colloquial phraseological units significantly outweighs the positive ones, and according to their morphological classification in the part of speech, the verbal units are dominant.
