Summary/Abstract: The paper investigates how the category of person is used as a means by which the speaker represents himself/ herself in discourse. Structural stylistics has already explored the so-called synonymy, i.e. transposition of person and its functions in texts. By combining the stylistic approach and CDA, the paper investigates semantic, stylistic and ideological effects of different forms of person for discourse self-representation of the speaker.
