Summary/Abstract: The challenges of the pandemic crisis have forced not only the member states but also the European Union itself to act. The question of the need to manage the epidemic at a European level is only the tip of the iceberg. It can be concluded that, although efforts have been made for a long time to develop and operate a single health policy, we still see significant differences in this area between the member states and between individual sectors in this field. The most important questions at the moment are whether it is possible to speed up the development of healthcare at a European level and whether there is a need for stronger coordination between the functioning of the systems of the individual Member States and those of the EU. What are the main risks, and what could be the main objectives, tasks and results of the common EU health policy in the future? This study seeks to find relevant answers to these questions through a brief analysis of the situation and a presentation of the detectable main regulatory and economic trends.
