Summary/Abstract: While the different cultural and moral attitudes of the population with a migration background, mostly Muslim, are causing increasing tension in Western Europe, economic relations in the Middle East outline the perspective of strong market opportunities. Both phenomena strengthen the trend that creates favorable conditions for Islamic banks both in the European Union and in the states of the European Economic Area. The study presents the main differences between Islamic and conventional banking services.
