Summary/Abstract: Social work is one of the helping professions, the main tool of social workers is their own personality, so they must pay close attention to their mental health during their work. People working in helping professions are exposed to a high emotional burden, and they have to regulate their emotions during their work. Burnout is a process that can be divided into stages. In the first stages, the individual’s desire to prove himself is very high, he wants to show his abilities, and he accepts the continuous workload citing conscientiousness. During the process, the individual’s condition deteriorates until he reaches a state of complete burnout. The most defining process of the 21st century is social aging, which has entailed new economic and social problems. Social workers dealing with the elderly often face helplessness and passing away, the emotional burden in this sector can be higher. My research is based on a qualitative method, I conduct expert interviews, and my aim is to shed light on possible discrepancies. In terms of prevention, I would like to focus on the working conditions, because based on what I have read so far, this is one of the most influencing factors.
