Summary/Abstract: Created in 1935, by the famous public worker for the Rodopi Stoiu Shishkov, today the History Museum – Smolian successfully continues its work in tracing and studding the cultural-historic heritage of the Central Rodopi. One of the undisputed goals of the museum is the striving to popularize, in a simple and attractive way, the fortune stored in its funds to the youngest generation and in this way to educate a museum public. The educational museum programs, as an alternative type of education, are one of the means for the realization of this priority. Diverse in character, theme and forms of realization, some of them affirm themselves as stable in time. Such are the programs, connected with the marking of calendar festivities and customs, organized in the form of workshops and developed in number of variants, intended for kinds of different ages and with different interests. Conditionally called “workshops”, they provoke the interest of the grownups toward the traditional Bulgarian culture and simultaneously transform them into artists.
