Summary/Abstract: Varlaam's cauldron is a massive work, having 506 sheets (1012 pages), large format, good paper of Polish and German origin. The cult book had a wide circulation and a phenomenal impact, being useful both in schools and in homes, becoming over time the most read book in our old culture. It was widespread in the intra-Carpathian Romanian provinces (Transylvania, Banat, Bihor, Maramureş), where approximately 400 copies were found, extremely appreciated by the Orthodox Romanians, due to a neat form of expression of the Romanian language, close to the popular idiom.
