Summary/Abstract: The 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine became the focus of intense scholarly attention and the topic of special issues published by academic journals such as the International Political Science Review, the Security and Human Rights Monitor, Asia Europe Journal, the Nordic Review of International Studies, Intelligence and National Security, the European Journal of Social Theory, the European and Global Studies Journal, the Journal of Public Finance and Public Choice, the International Community Law Review, the Journal of Military and Strategic Studies, the Journal of Risk and Financial Management, Transnational Corporations Review, the American Review of International Arbitration, Globalizations, the Journal of International Women’s Studies, Women’s Studies International Forum, Critical Housing Analysis, Contemporary Theater Review, the Scottish Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Illicit Economies and Development, Journal of Media Business Studies, Arts, Nationalities Papers, Canadian Slavonic Papers, and Europe-Asia Studies, to name just a few. In addition, the conflict has presented enormous interest for academics working in post-Communist countries worried about Russia’s increased belligerence, as evidenced by special issues put together by the Rondeli Foundation for Strategic and International Studies in Tbilisi, Georgia, Studia Philosophica in Estonia, Applied Cybersecurity and Internet Governance in Poland, the Eastern Journal of European Studies in Iași, the Czech Journal of International Relations in Prague, or the Hungarian Journal of Legal Studies in Budapest, among others. To all these, which represent examples from a much larger number of publications, one could add special issues published in distant countries where Russia’s land-grabs reverberate locally, as demonstrated, for example, by the special issues hosted by the Global Taiwan Brief and the Bulletin of Latin American Research.
