Summary/Abstract: Every time I visited Piatra-Neamț, I intended to see “the oldest wooden synagogue in Romania.” I only fulfilled this wish at the end of November 2024. A prophetic visit, considering the current political context—one that encourages intolerance, bigotry, and fanaticism more than ever.
