Summary/Abstract: The General Union of Jewish Workers of Lithuania, Poland and Russia in the activity of the Governmental Directorate of the Independent Gendarmerie Corps of Bessarabia): This article is an attempt to demonstrate, based on unpublished documents from the National Archive of the Republic of Moldova, the activity of the Government Directorate of the Independent Corps of Gendarmes against the General Union of Jewish Workers of Lithuania, Poland and Russia (Bund) party. Founded in February 1903, the local group of the Bund worked in close collaboration with the Social-Democratic Labor Party of Russia (PSDMR), at times forming a unified Social-Democratic committee in Bessarabia. The influence of this party was based on the high number of the population of Jewish origin in the urban centers who, by and large, considered themselves followers of the party. The Bessarabian National Directorate of Gendarmes inflicted a number of strong blows on the party which, in practical terms, abolished its organizational structures, but not its influence among the masses, which remained quite high until the abolition of the Governmental Directorate of Gendarmes.
