Summary/Abstract: Dragan Stoianovici was born on April 24, 1938, in the town of Belobreșca, Caraș-Severin County. He graduated from high school in Timișoara, attended the Faculty of Philosophy in Bucharest (1955–1960), and earned a PhD in philosophy from "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iași (1973/1975). After completing his studies, he worked as a secondary school teacher, editor, and translator for publications of the Romanian Academy. Starting in 1967, he successively held positions as assistant professor, lecturer, associate professor, and full professor at the Department of Theoretical Philosophy and Logic of the Faculty of Philosophy in Bucharest. He taught courses in general logic, modern logic, the logic of practical discourse, the logic of norms, the philosophy of logic, argumentation, and critical thinking. Additionally, he lectured on logic and the methodology of science at the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest. Between 1990 and 2000, he was a visiting professor at the Ecological University of Bucharest, where he taught a course in legal logic at the Faculty of Law. A reserved and distinguished personality, in the final years of his life, he was an emeritus professor at the University of Bucharest.
