Summary/Abstract: In the study we approach the issues of literary translation. We wish to make a synthesis of the translation of Sadoveanu-s works into Hungarian. While Mihail Sadoveanu, one of the most important Romanian writers of the 20th century made an early debut and turned out to be a very prolific writer, prior to the first World War and in the interbellum period Hungarian translators paid little attention to his work. The translation of his major creations started after the Second World War. We aim to make a presentation of the main tendencies in the translation of his works during the last century.
