The Agility of SME Entrepreneurs and Its Impact on Innovation and Entrepreneurial Resilience

Summary/Abstract: This research examines the role of entrepreneurial agility on the innovation and resilience of SME entrepreneurs in facing the dynamics of the business environment. Based on the concept of dynamic capabilities, this research offers the development of the concept of resilience of SME entrepreneurs in facing the dynamics of the business environment in the SME sector by considering the dynamic capabilities needed to overcome the research problem. This research was conducted on weaving SME entrepreneurs, which is a tourism support sector that depends on tourist visits and is very vulnerable to changes in the external environment. A total of 333 weaving SME entrepreneurs in Bali were used as the research sample and data were collected through questionnaire distribution. The research data was obtained using SEM PLS to see the relationship between the research variables. The results showed that entrepreneur agility is a dynamic ability that affects the innovation and resilience of SME entrepreneurs. Agile entrepreneurs find it easier to see opportunities and adjust their business to easily adapt to the dynamics of the business environment so that it is easier to survive when meeting challenging situations. Entrepreneurs who are quick to innovate will also increase their competitive advantage which affects their resilience.
