Summary/Abstract: In the age of technology and with the increasing interest in digital forms of communication, the "orator" known so far is being transferred to the new environment of the digital world, from where comes the term "digital rhetorician/speaker". The article makes a theoretical overview of the new entirely digital verbal forms – blog, vlog, influencer videos and podcast, placing them in the context of the familiar and fundamental five rhetorical canons – inventio, dipositio, elocitio, memoria and actio. The text aims to find the common characteristics of verbal utterances in digital and classical rhetoric, to reach and present the determinants for the "new" rhetoric, based on the known art of public speaking. Such a comparative analysis presents the place of speaking in the contemporary communication process, how it changes as a result of the new environment, which are the characteristics that are preserved and which are changed
