Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present and critically analyze Heidegger's reflections on the essence of technology within the broader context of the question concerning the history of being. In this endeavor, the goal is to uncover and comprehend the metaphysical foundations and, by extension, the origins of the technological age in which we now live—a central theme in twentieth-century thought. This theme has become even more relevant today, in a world deeply shaped by artificial intelligence, where the conditions that have made this technological era possible have become almost entirely obscured. We increasingly hear discussions about the global standardization of life and thought, the total mobilization of planetary resources for exploitation through planning, the hidden danger of resource depletion in the wealth of modern societies, the objectification of nature, and the instrumentalization of interpersonal relations. These are accompanied by the relentless and accelerated production of goods and information, driven solely by the logic of production itself. Yet, the profound implications of these phenomena can only be fully understood by revisiting the metaphysical principles that, throughout history, have enabled this specific manifestation of being, which now governs the age of modern technology.
