Summary/Abstract: The establishment of the “Union and Progress” movement was initiated by Ottoman intellectuals based in Paris, in collaboration with officers in Thessaloniki. It evolved through the merger of various societies and groups, ultimately uniting under the common banner of “Union and Progress”. Several prominent individuals of Macedonian origin participated in the committee. Among the most notable were: Eyup Sabri Bey from Ohrid, Resneli Ahmed Niazi Bey from Resen, and Ibrahim Temo from Struga. Through their intellectual and military activities, they contributed to strengthening the organization and later left literary works and memoirs of the events. Formed as a discreet organization, its core purpose was to liberate the nation from the rule of Sultan Abdulhamid II. Its goals centered on the adoption of values such as justice, equality, and freedom.
