ACQUIRING CITIZENSHIP OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

Summary/Abstract: The paper reviews the types of acquiring citizenship under the laws of the Republic of Moldova. The issue of determining citizens’ membership to the new state occurred after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the proclamation of independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova. We have analyzed the means provided by the law such as acquiring citizenship by birth, acquiring citizenship by recognition, acquiring citizenship by adoption, and acquiring citizenship by naturalization.
