Summary/Abstract: The merger has effects not only on the merging companies, shareholders, creditors, third parties but also on their employees. We took into consideration two types of effects in case of employees transfer: the legal and the psychological effect. Due to the protective legislation set forth for the employees based on the European provisions the legal effects are more perceptible than the psychological ones that are not usually taken into account, when deciding a merger. Still they should be considered for a successful merger from all points of view.
