Summary/Abstract: Jaroslav Foglar, known as Jestřáb, was a prominent figure in Czech literature and youth education, embodying moral and ethical values through his works and lifelong dedication to youth. Despite his positive influence, he faced significant opposition and accusations, particularly from the State Security (StB), which sought to discredit him. Foglar's involvement with the scouting movement and his apolitical stance during the communist regime led to continuous surveillance and harassment. His efforts to promote honesty, camaraderie, and outdoor activities were seen as subversive, resulting in his exclusion from official organizations and persistent scrutiny. The document highlights Foglar's resilience and the broader context of political repression in Czechoslovakia, illustrating the challenges faced by individuals who maintained their principles in the face of authoritarianism.
