Summary/Abstract: This article is about the variety of interests in Eastern Orthodox Christian identity in relation to gender problems in Bulgarian local cultural context. How local believers think about gender issues, does not actually coincide with how they identify themselves as contemporary Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Christians. Scholarly and theological literature do not sufficiently explore most of the problematics that occur along local church life, including genderism. This article is about the variety of interests in Eastern Orthodox Christian identity in relation to gender problems in Bulgarian local cultural context.
