Paying reverence to Saint Hierarch Joseph the New of Partos in the capital of Banat, on the occasion of 65 years since his solemn canonization

Summary/Abstract: Every year, on the 15 of September, Saint Hierarch Joseph the New of Partos, Metropolitan ofTimi§oara and protector of Banat, is remembranced by the Romanian Orthodox Church. On this occasion, the city of Timisoara and the Metropolitan Cathedral dressed up, paying reverence, through prayers and liturgical chants, to their spiritual protector. The religious manifestations started on the eve of the feast, when, according to tradition, the procession with the relics of the Saint took place along the streets of Timisoara. On the celebrating day of the holy protector of Banat, His Eminence Metropolitan loan, co-served by a large group of hierarchs, priests and deacons, and assisted by numerous faithful, officiated the Hierarchical Holy and Divine Liturgy, in the Metropolitan Cathedral.
