Summary/Abstract: The classification of literary works has always been a delicate issue. Many factors are important in the classification process, such as: type of text (poetic or prose), amount of text, way of shaping it — structure and form, topic, genre, style and many other characteristics. In relation to the novel, which mostly tells about fictional characters and events, or is inspired by true events and in a formal sense places fictional ones, the biography presents true data about the chosen person. Autobiography ie. the writer presents information about himself in the first person singular. A subtype of biography is a romanced biography or, as it often appears in periodicals, a biographical novel. The mentioned classification refers to a prose literary work. On the other hand, poets describe their life in poetic language — songs, poems, ballads… They present only parts of their life and intimacy, that is, the environment and events that occupy them. The collection of poems Pozni uranak (1988) by Dragutin Deklić — Skit contains forty poems that talk about different segments of the poet’s life. The selected songs are carefully arranged and shaped into a rounded formal and thematic compositional ring. In this way, the aforementioned collection of poems takes on the role of a romanticized autobiography.
