Summary/Abstract: The relation between philosophical thought and security as a science is unquestionable and constant. Philosophy has always analyzed the concept of security, without separating it from human thought and spirit, thus making it more humane. On the other hand, security has put the philosophical reflection to the challenge of frequent and rapid changes in security dynamics. In this paper, I provide a brief overview of the philosophical concept of security, rooted in the ancient Greek and Roman civilizations. By connecting philosophy and security, I want to point out the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the concept of security, as well as to emphasize that, thanks to philosophy, security has taken on a human character.
