Summary/Abstract: The most important application area of the Eastern Question, which aimed to divide the lands of the Ottoman Empire without disrupting the balance of power in the international system, was created in the Balkans in the 19th century. Even if the struggle with the movements that would constitute a threat for the monarchies in the international system that was established after the Congress of Vienna (1815) was taken as basis, Ottoman Empire was not considered in this context and the Eastern Question became one of the weak points of the Vienna System. In this regard, the uprisings of the Serbian, Greek, Romanian and Bulgarian communities as the sub-problems areas of the Eastern Question by the effects of nationalist movement caused devastating results for the Ottoman Empire. The support of the Great Powers for those uprisings created an application area for the Eastern Question. The aim of this study is to analyze the Eastern Question and its sub-problems areas’ effects on the Ottoman Empire from a historical perspective within the context of the qualitative data analysis method.
