Summary/Abstract: The brass band occupies an important place in the social and cultural life of the Republic of Moldova. The repertoirededicated to the brass band, in terms of musical genre, is diverse: from marches, academic creations, to folk, entertainment,pop-rock, jazz, etc. Despite the rich repertoire, we regrettably note a small number of works written directly for brass band.Among established composers from the Republic of Moldova (or who worked in our country), who wrote for the brass band,we can name Nicolae Chiosa, Gheorghe Mustea and Victor Simonov. There are also some pieces intended for brass bands insmall composition (usually 5 instruments) signed by Ghenadie Ciobanu, Dmitrii Kitenko, Igor Iachimciuc and others. A largepart of the repertoire, however, is the processing, the arrangements of creations taken from different genres of music, includingfolkloric works. Symphony no. 3 by Victor Simonov, written directly for brass band, makes full use of the sonority and expressiveness of this type of orchestra.
