Summary/Abstract: On December 20, 2024, the Law amending Articles 93 and 94 of the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany, which relate to the jurisdiction and structure of the Federal Constitutional Court, was published. The amendment was prompted by a broad public debate on the identification of measures to protect the Court from political influence in the context of an uncertain political situation which had even led to the dissolution of Parliament.
