Summary/Abstract: In 2023, the Institute of Classical Archaeology at Charles University conducted extensive research across Bulgaria, Croatia, France, North Macedonia, Uzbekistan, and Turkey, supported by the European Regional Development Fund. In Bulgaria, the focus was on documenting Bronze Age and Roman Imperial period burial mounds, while in Croatia, the final phase of a long-term project in Lovas revealed a well-preserved Roman house. French excavations at Bibracte uncovered early human activity and a Roman sanctuary. In North Macedonia, stratigraphic and chronological data were gathered from hilltop settlements, and geological surveys were conducted around Lake Ohrid. Turkish research at Kaymakçı focused on ceramic finds and grinding stones, and in Uzbekistan, the team continued to explore burial practices and settlement patterns in the Sherabad District. The interdisciplinary project in Italy and Croatia examined the provenance of white marble, highlighting Ravenna's connections with the Eastern Mediterranean. These diverse projects underscore the institute's commitment to uncovering and understanding ancient civilizations through meticulous fieldwork and analysis.
