Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the debates that arose in Romania following the adoption of Law No. 303/2022 on the status of judges and prosecutors and, more specifically, with the problems raised by the modification of the pension system in relation to the requirement of respect for the principle of independence of the judiciary. An issue also raised by the Constitutional Court, which concluded that the pension system called into question the statutory and constitutional guarantees of magistrates.
