Summary/Abstract: The ordo augustalium is created very soon in Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa, the only colonia deducta of Dacia. The number of the augustales increases in the same town with the economic growth of the province and with the development of urbanization. One of the most mentioned augustales in this province was Ulpius Domitius Hermes, mentioned in five texts. The authors reevaluate the epigraphic file of Domitius Hermes, emphasizing the importance of the imperial cult in Dacia.
