Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the issue of hipporehabilitation and its effect on pupils with autism spectrum disorder. Presents the results of qualitative research in the form of case studies of three pupils with autism spectrum disorder. The aim of the paper is to analyse the effect of hipporehabilitation on pupils with autism spectrum disorder, to find out how the social competence of pupils with autism spectrum disorder develops based on the use of hipporehabilitation, how the emotional experience of pupils with autism spectrum disorder changes when using hipporehabilitation and what effect the horse environment has on behaviour of pupils with autism spectrum disorder. The results show that the environment of the horse stable and horses has a positive effect on pupils with autism spectrum disorder. A significant area of benefit of hipporehabilitation is the improvement of communication skills. Another area in which hipporehabilitation had a positive effect was self-realization and self-confidence improvement. An important aspect is taking into account the influence of other therapies, which can have a significant impact on pupils’ progress.
