Summary/Abstract: The aim of this work is the recent publishing of 2 volumes collected scolar articles and essays of Nikolai Genchev. Together with his numerous monographies, they take an important part in the scientist’s creative activities and that is why they deserve special attention. They do not only have a valuable content but are also significant for the overview of the idea evolution and for the understanding of the whole profile of the famous Bulgarian historian and intellectual. The overview traces the creative activity of N. Genchev from its very beginning – the researches over the communism establishment in Bulgaria. The author examines his works over the Bulgarian Renaissance, and later the ones connected with more significant problems of the Bulgarian historical development and its sign on the Bulgarian community and culture. The interest of Professor Genchev in the after liberation epoch, the period of ottomanistic domination, the Middle Ages as well as his participation in the discussion about the fascism, are also traced. In contrast to many Bulgarian historians, who specialize within the framework of close chronology, Professor Genchev has shown his interest in many epochs of the Bulgarian development.
