Summary/Abstract: This paper brings forward the media portrayal of women-journalists, focusing on the gender inequalities in mass-media that put in jeopardy the safety of female journalists when performing their jobs. Within the purpose of investigating the issue of discrimination against female journalists, the analysis included the cases that mass-media drew attention upon regarding the inequalities and abuses in the newsrooms, and also the correctness from an ethical point of view of reporting these materials by the press. These aspects emphasize if the representation in national mass-media of these cases is achieved in an impartial manner by all media institutions involved in the process, and if the reporting of these cases included ethical violations.
