Summary/Abstract: This study examines the transition of Lajos Jordáky (1913–1974) an the ex-social democratic politician to the Romanian Communist Party, his party career, and his removal from the Communist Party . The main emphasis is on the description of Jordáky’s leadership in the region, as well as his social, political and cultural activities, in addition to the description of the forms of political self-organization in North Transylvania at the end of 1944 and the beginning of 1945.
