Summary/Abstract: In the present article are shown the archaeological sites and the researches made in this frame. The establishment of the human communities in the area is due to the existence of the salt deposits. Following the investigations, it was concluded that the salt was extracted in The Prehistory thru the salt water from the springs, later, most likely, in The Getic and Roman Period thru galleries. In the present stage of researches, in the area of Ocnele Mari town, there are 12 archaeological sites which belongs to Prehistory and Antiquity. Moreover, the town of Ocnele Mari holds a fixed heritage that will be the subject of a future study.
