Summary/Abstract: Sexuality is a fundamental aspect of human existence. Yet, dominant perceptions within this realm often fail to foster a sense of security and contentment. In this article, I discuss consent and pleasure in the context of holistic sexuality education. My aim is to illustrate how the traditional definition of consent falls short in the context of sexuality education. The concept of consent fails to account for the complexity of desire, uncertainties, and the influence of social and cultural factors. Instead, I suggest that a focus on sexual rights and sexual health offers a more clear and inclusive approach. Furthermore, I propose the inclusion of pleasure in sexuality education. This approach aligns more closely with individuals’ sexual experiences. It is also essential to critically examine the cultural norms and social scripts surrounding sexuality, which limit the experience of pleasure.
