Summary/Abstract: In the late summer of 1948, the skautské společenství KRUH emerged, led by philosopher and theologian Pavel Křivský, aiming to teach the "art of good living" and foster societal renewal. This group, which included notable figures like Jiří Dunovský, found a sanctuary in the Bílkova vila in Prague, a place imbued with the spiritual and artistic legacy of the symbolist sculptor František Bílek. The villa, designed to symbolize life as a field of ripe grain, became a meeting place for KRUH members, who sought spiritual and intellectual growth amidst the oppressive political climate of the early 1950s. Despite the eventual arrest of Křivský and the disbandment of KRUH, the group's activities left a lasting impact on its members, who continued to cherish the ideals of responsibility, love, and understanding. The story of KRUH and its connection to Bílek's villa highlights the enduring power of art and spirituality in nurturing resilience and hope.
