Summary/Abstract: The Academia Europaea has extensive experience in informing the general public and policymakers about the status of scientific knowledge in complex policy-relevant fields. Thus, the Academy has played a prominent role in the SAPEA (Science Advice for Policy by European Academies) advisory mechanism for the European Commission. In this context, one of AE’s hubs, namely the one at Cardiff University, has played a key role.
