Summary/Abstract: A book that is quite difficult to classify from a generic point of view, W or the memory of childhood (1975) by Georges Perec offers an unprecedented form of a life story, alternating between a fictional story and an autobiographical text whose defining features are incoherence, oscillation, groping and uncertainty. Our aim is to study the way in which the truth about oneself is revealed by Perec through fiction in a biased, concealed way. Fiction and truth sometimes show different facets of the same reality, especially when it comes to the perception of one’s own existence.
