Summary/Abstract: Many researchers emphasize the fact that the profession of a soldier is bur-dened with a significant stress, which requires individuals to have specific pre-dispositions. The effectiveness of soldiers’ actions depends on many factors,which are an important research areas in terms of health, the psychology ofstress and personal security.The quality of professional performance is influenced by external factors aswell as and personality. An important requirement is resistance to stress-in-ducing stimuli and the ability to use adaptive ways of coping with stress.Increased mental resilience enables the individual to function better underpressure in a rapidly changing environment – hence the need for individualsto be aware of their ability to cope with stress. The article presents the pro-cess of selection, preparation and education of soldiers for military action.
