Summary/Abstract: The present study aims to de!ne Thomas Bernhard's dramolets from a compositional and theoretical point of view. The two volumes of interest are: The German Lunch Table (Der deutsche Mittagstisch) and the so called "Peymann Trilogy". Each of these two volumes will be analysed according to either the speci!c polemic or the playful tone used by the author to make his statement. The contemporary Austrian writer sees his professional goal to make his readers and audience to pay attention to social and political aspects, past or present ones, in a tragicomic manner. Thus Bernhard's mini-theatre plays are considered to be modern social-political plays.
