Summary/Abstract: These days, everyone knows that IT is a very complex and constantly changing field, sought after both for well-paid jobs and for the professional satisfactions they offer. Nowadays everyhing is electronically controlled. In almost all electronic devices they use one or more microcontrollers or microprocessors. All universities that have electrical engineering departments teach a course on microcontrollers and/or microprocessors. Professors teach courses and laboratories that do not have a high level of difficulty because the purpose of those courses is to lay a foundation in the student’s knowledge. From an educational point of view, it is important to attract the attention and interest of students in programming and learning to carry out projects that demonstrate all their abilities. Using microcontrollers and programming with them, students can realize real and highly complex engineering projects and they can gain from these projects more knowledge in microcontroller programming but also their operation. This paper will explain the difference between 2 methods of programming microcontrollers: the first method is to use libraries to control servomotors of a robotic arm and the second method is to use directly the internal resources of the microcontroller to control the same robotic arm and to see the results of these implementations.
